Rinko Tsugaru (津軽稟子, Tsugaru Rinko) is a character in the series Advance! Kitakou Broadcasting Club.

Appearance

Rinko is a petite girl with long hair, part of which is tied into a ponytail on the left side of her head. She wears a pink flower ornament on her ponytail, as well as two matching ornaments on her ears. Her hair has alternated between being colored orange or light brown over the years of the comic, while her eyes have been brown or red.

In the earlier strips and first Kitakou game, she wears a blue vest over a white uniform shirt, with a matching pleated skirt and a pair of loafers with white socks. After the Pure game, her new uniform consisted of a red sailor-style dress with a black necktie and trim. Her footwear with the second uniform has alternated between pink socks with brown boots, or a pair of long white socks with white-and-black Mary Janes.

As "Kitakou Pink", she wore a pair of pink sweats with tall white boots.

Profile

The lead female character (and a second year in the Environmental Systems department), Rinko is an introverted and somewhat lonely young girl who is further considered strange due to her Tsugaru dialect. It is said that since she can't take pressure well, she secretly longs for her own hero, being a fan of sentai. Her favorite hobbies are cooking and farming, and she likes to eat jappa soup, apples, and bread on a stick.

Though she initially found two friends when arriving at Kitakou and made a sentai team with them (the "Kitakou Rangers"), the other two girls turned out to be jealous and betrayed Rinko due to the popularity she was receiving from boys (including a boy they had feelings for) and went on to spread rumors about her being a "slut". Having found herself a loner once more, Rinko decided to join the broadcasting club.
