Imari Hagakure (葉隠いまり Hagakure Imari) is a minor character in Advance! Kitakou Broadcasting Club. She attends the prestigious St.Andreas Azumi Academy (in the Pure version, while the school she attends in the classic strips is Asaka High School).

Appearance

She has short hair in a bob cut, with some of it pinned to the back of her head in a knot. Her hair and eyes were originally colored pink in early images, but Himaruya quickly changed them to violet.

Classic Kitakou

In her brief appearances, she wears a uniform similar to the one for Koriyama Kitakou High; a white uniform shirt with a dark vest and pleated skirt.

Kitakou Pure

In this series, the Azumi uniform is much different from the Kitakou one, appearing as a white sailor-style blouse and skirt. The blouse is trimmed with navy blue on its cuffs and collar, and her sailor necktie sports a pink flower at the top.

Profile

Imari is the elegant vice president of the Asaka/Azumi broadcasting club and skilled in many subjects, with the exception of love. She is usually calm and expressionless, but can easily become unnerved and pained (in her stomach and head) by loud and obnoxious people. Following rules is very important for her, as she's an honor student and must do things "perfectly".

She enjoys green tea, pottery, and exploring tombs.

Relationships

Matsukage Choushuu

Main article: Matsukage Choushuu

Imari has a crush on Matsukage, but can barely get any time alone with him as he's constantly being followed by the more rambunctious club members that give her such a hard time.

Shijimi Shimane

Main article: Shijimi Shimane

Imari is not amused by Shijimi due to his loud personality, and wishes that he'd be quiet and leave Matsukage alone.

Houki Tottori

Main article: Houki Tottori

Houki also gets on Imari's nerves, due to the fact that he is often hanging around Matsukage and Shijimi, though mostly to keep Shijimi from starting trouble.

Trivia

  • Imari's surname derives from the Hagakure practice introduced by the samurai Yamamoto Tsunetomo, who lived in what is now the Saga Prefecture. Her given name itself is a reference to the town of Imari that existed in the Edo period of Japan, as well as the current city of Imari in the Saga Prefecture.
