Homare Aizu

Template:Character Homare Aizu (会津誉, Aizu Homare) is a character in the series Barjona Bombers, attending Barjona Marine High School.

Appearance

In the early Barjona series and the games, Homare was depicted with wild, somewhat shaggy light brown hair and brown eyes. However, over the years his hair became shorter and lighter, and his eyes varied between being brown and green.

He wears the typical teal vest and slacks as part of his Barjona uniform, but wears a beige pinstripe shirt underneath the vest.

Profile

Homare is the logical, yet cynical and grouchy student president of Barjona High. He is responsible for running his grandfather's coffee shop, a place that has been around since the early Showa era. He also takes part in the school band, in which he plays the flute. Though Homare loves food, he is a terrible cook and has incredibly suspicious taste in ingredients. His other worst skill is physical activity, and he hates sports.

He has a pet rabbit by the name of Akabeko.

Relationships

Yamato Nara

Main article: Yamato Nara

Homare cannot stand Yamato's personality, and hates his wild imagination and constant teasing. He usually refers to Yamato as a "fox" or "Mountain fox".

When Yamato winds up making a fool of himself, Homare gets his own share of amusement.

Noto Kanazawa

Main article: Noto Kanazawa

After Noto snapped and became "Black Noto" (or Noto-sama), Homare found himself as a victim and wound up beat up by Noto and put in a sexually compromising situation. However, Homare managed to defeat Noto by catching him by surprise and punching him out.

Homare was also a victim of Noto in the third Noto-sama game.

In other series

Hetalia: Axis Powers

A personification of the Aizu-han that resembles Homare first appears in Black Ships Have Come!, suggesting that the Japanese find a way to co-exist with the Western powers. He winds up berated by Mito-han for suggesting such an idea.

In the unfinished The World of War and the Fool of Owari, Aizu is profiled in the footnotes, where it says he wound up driven into poverty due to being defeated in the Boshin War.

Trivia

• His surname is not only a reference to the western area of Fukushima (and the city Aizuwakamatsu), but the feudal domain of Aizu in the Edo period of Japan. His given name could be a reference to the Homare aircraft engine used by the Imperial Japanese Army (as well as the navy) in WWII.
