Matsukage Choushuu (長州松陰, Choushuu Matsukage) is a minor character in Advance! Kitakou Broadcasting Club, who attends St.Andreas Azumi Academy (Asaka High School in the original Kitakou strips).

Appearance

Matsukage is the tallest of the Asaka/Azumi clique, and has short, scruffy dark hair. Unusually, while most of the characters' uniforms changed between the class Kitakou strips and Pure, his uniform in both series appears to be the same: A dark blue vest worn over a white uniform shirt, a red tie, and light blue slacks.

Profile

The chairman of the Asaka/St.Andreas Azumi broadcasting club, he takes his job very seriously and has wound up in a constant state of worry due to the other rowdy members complicating things for him. Although he is the son of a famous physician and aspires to follow in his father's footsteps, it seems unlikely that he'll succeed due to his scatterbrained nature.

Matsukage has a fondness for cute dogs, but can act strange around cute things in general. He is also very skilled at baking cakes, while his medicine skills aren't so good.

Relationships

Imari Hagakure

Imari has strong feelings for Matsukage, but has difficulty with being able to show them. Her problem is complicated further by Shijimi and Houki being in the way whenever she wants to be together with him.

Shijimi Shimane

Main article: Shijimi Shimane

Matsukage is admired and followed by Shijimi, who wants to hang around him all the time. However, Shijimi often leads him into chaos due to his excitable personality.

Houki Tottori

Main article: Houki Tottori

Though silent, Houki is also another thorn in Matsukage's side, as he's often following after Shijimi to make sure that he doesn't cause trouble. He also looks up to Matsukage, though more quietly and less direct.

Trivia

  • His surname references the Choushuu region (and accompanying clan) that would later form Yamaguchi Prefecture.
